Cinema Juárez — Cien Palmas

You know the kinds of people that are just so nice, genuine, and welcoming – they instantly feel like long time friends?! Well, Anabel and Blanca are those types of people. When we got invited to the opening premier of Cinema Juarez (about a month ago) we couldn’t wait to go and support. Upon getting there we were blown away!!! They have created such a cool, cozy and welcoming vibe to their open space – the movie is projected on a nice, clear wall underneath Mexican mural legend Uli @frentealcolor, there are multiple (social distanced) comfy seats, hammock chairs, lawn chairs and lots of warm blankets to get cozy with. They turned two shipping containers into a kitchen offering snacks, yummy food and beverages to enjoy your movie underneath the stars.

Anabel and Blanca (Cinema Juárez partners) met 15+ years ago while working in their hometown of Ciudad Juarez. In 2014 Anabel moved to Todos Santos – Blanca would visit several times until 2019 when they decided to make an offer to buy land next to each other and become beach house neighbors.

As for many people, 2020 was a game changer – they knew they wanted to create something of their own and offer something for the locals. “The Todos Santos community is growing fast around us and now that we have to adapt to the “new normal” we quickly realized that an open air, socially distanced activity was going to be the way to go and it all started taking shape after that.” 8 months into that plan – Cienema Juarez was born! Their good friend, and also Juarez born Tavo has joined in on their project as well. “We’re here to entertain this town one movie at a time and keeping our motto “lo importante es divertirnos!!”

Fun fact: Anabel lived in one of the casitas at Cien Palmas for 3 years before we took ownership! 😊
